AMS PowerProbe Rigs feature Direct Push drilling technology and Hollowstem Augering capabilities.
 

They have gained widespread acceptance in many industries due to their versatility, relatively low cost, and ease of mobility. Mounted on utes, trailers, or tracks, AMS PowerProbe direct push drill rigs are capable of retrieving soil, soil gas, and groundwater samples, as well as conducting a wide variety of environmental and geotechnical drilling activities.

 

AMS PowerProbes can access areas within buildings or off-road areas, and allow for collection of continuous core or discrete samples. The combination of direct push and hollowstem augering technologies allows for a great deal of versatility and assures completion of comprehensive and complex field work.

 

Compared to conventional drilling activities, direct push technology is less labour intensive, offers quicker setup time, and generates significantly less cuttings. It is also quicker and easier to decontaminate and maintain direct push tooling.

9100 Series

The 9110 Ag-Probe is the newest model in the AMS PowerProbe line up, designed for use in agricultural and environmental sampling. This model can be mounted on most standard UTV units that meet the standard weight limits. The 9110 Ag-Probe is powered by a self-contained 13 HP Honda Gas Engine with Electric Start.

 

This model was designed for the user in mind with a collapsible mast to have a transport height of 80 inches to be able to fit inside most enclosed trailers.

9110 AG Probe TR

The 9110 AG-Probe TR is the newest model in the AMS PowerProbe line up.

It is designed for use in agricultural and environmental sampling. This model can be mounted on most standard tractors that meet the standard weight limits.

 

The 9110 Ag-Probe TR is powered by the Power Take Off (PTO) from the tractor. It is designed for the customer that already owns the carrier vehicle or tractor. This saves time and money on the initial capital investment.

9110 LAP & Power Pack

The 9110-LAP PowerProbe is a portable direct push rig, designed for use in confined spaces or buildings where a vehicle-mounted probe cannot go.

 

This model can be driven off any standard AMS PowerProbeª with an auxiliary hydraulic hook-up kit, or the optional AMS portable hydraulic power unit.

The 9110-LAP comes standard with a 90 ft-lb hydraulic hammer.

This model comes standard with our 90-ft-lb hydraulic hammer to sample in almost any type of soil condition you run in to.

The 9120-RAP can be set up as a "quick detach" from the UTV machine if you need to Heli-Lift by air into remote locations with or without roads.

The rugged rubber tracks keep the unit moving when soil conditions get soft, wet or muddy with minimal disturbance to the work site.

The probe can easily be removed to allow the use of the carrier vehicle and its accessories such as the bucket, pallet forks, and backfill blade.

Small Soil Sampler

The small Automatic Soil Sampler provides high quality soil samples because the probe collects the total soil structure for the depth you choose.

The adjustable limit switch ensures the same depth core will be taken consistently. The lightweight, compact and simple design allows the ability to move the automatic soil sampler from vehicle to vehicle in just minutes.

The simple design requires less maintenance and ease of use.

Simply press the control up or down function whether using the installed rocker switch or the wireless remote.

The AMS PowerCoreTM 9400 allows you to limit the number of employees needed on site.

This asphalt & concrete coring system provides a convenient, cost-effective method for retrieving a sample of concrete or asphalt for materials tests, or to collect soil samples from below the pavement.  You can collect clean core samples or easily collect intact concrete and asphalt cores for testing and sampling.

The PowerCoreTM 9400 is set up with a high-speed hydraulic core motor and our standard direct push 90 ft-lb. hydraulic hammer used for direct push soil sampling so you can collect semi-undisturbed soil samples below the surface.

All trailer and truck-mounted models can be customised with on-board generators, a slurry-vac system, a 300 litre fresh-water tank, a 300 litre recovery waste-water tank, tooling racks, and lockable aluminium storage compartments to fit your specific needs.

Optional two rear-mounted outrigger jacks for increased stability are also available.

The AMS PowerCore Asphalt & Concrete Coring System is a convenient, cost efficient method for retrieving a soil sample covered by concrete pavement.

Rather than having to remove large sections of the concrete or asphalt, simply bore through a small area of the pavement and collect multiple clean core samples.

The AMS PowerCore Asphalt & Concrete Coring System mounts to any compact, full-sized ute or trailer.

A unique and versatile mounted slider system allows for easy in-and-out as well as side-to-side motion. This allows the user to take multiple samples without having to reposition their rig.

Two rear-mounted outrigger jacks increase stability. Front-mounted outrigger jacks can be added for additional stability. They also make loading, unloading, and storage of the PowerCore system quick and simple.

PowerCore 9410

The AMS PowerCoreTM 9410 allows you to limit the number of employees needed on site. Each model is set up with our standard Direct Push capability by using a 200 ft-lb. hydraulic hammer along with a 2400 ft-lb. hydraulic core motor that can core through concrete and asphalt to allow access for the collection of intact continuous soil cores.

The PowerCoreTM 9410 model has all the same features and robust design as our Direct Push machines. It’s powered by a Kohler KDI 1903 (Tier4F) Turbo Diesel engine that provides plenty of power. It powers a 3,000 ft-lb torque auger motor at 50 RPM on low, 150 RPM on high, and a 3rd position for high-speed coring up to 650 RPM.

Matched with our 200 ft-lb direct push hammer, new 1.8m stroke mast oscillation design, and optional 3,000 ft-lb overhead winch system makes this the most versatile truck-mounted PowerCoreTM we have ever built. Also available is our mast mounted auto-drop hammer to access all of the geotechnical demands in today’s market. All trailer and truck-mounted models can be customized with on-board generators, a slurry-vac system, a 283 litre fresh-water tank, a 283 litre recovery waste-water tank, tooling racks, and lockable aluminum storage compartments to fit your specific needs.

9410 VTR

The AMS PowerProbe 9400 Series is our mid-sized PowerProbe.

The track-mounted 9410 VTR is compact for limited access areas being 1.42m wide, but maintains great augering (3,000 ft-lb) and direct push drilling (200 ft-lb) power.

Fully loaded with all options (winch, SPT Hammer, Direct Push Hammer, and Auger Motor), it has a surface load of only 5.6 psi, which offers you many options in a small areas.

The hydraulic system is load sensed which allows for better operating efficiency and fuel economy. The front blade tool tote with sample prep tray allows for in the field processing of samples and along with added tool storage so you can take most everything you need from drill location to drill location.

9500 Series

The AMS PowerProbe 9500 Series combines high-powered Direct-Push and Auger capabilities with operator-friendly engineering.

The track-mounted 9500-VTR all-terrain model can easily gain access to on or off-road sampling points, and with a surface load of only 4.9 psi, the 9500-VTR can also position on softer surfaces with relative ease.

 

The 9500-D (Diesel) and 9500-G (Gasoline) PowerProbe models utilise a standalone power source and are most typically Truck-Mounted. With a wide array of Tooling/Supply Storage options, the truck-mounted models allow you to keep your operation mobile for extended periods without support vehicles. The 9500-D also provides for an optional Trailer Mount.

9520-D PowerProbe

The AMS 9520-D (Diesel) PowerProbe runs off of a 60 hp liquid-cooled, turbo-charged diesel engine. It comes standard with a 350 ft-lb hydraulic hammer for Direct Push, groundwater, soil gas, and remedial injection type sampling.

 

Like the 9520-VTR, this model can also be equipped with our 4,000 ft/lb auger motor and 3,000lb winch assembly. This model comes standard with an 2.0m probe stroke that will allow for the use of 1.5m tooling.

The AMS PowerProbeª 9520-SK models include a 1.8m probe stroke to allow use of 1.2m tooling and a

90 ft-lb hammer with more options available.

If a HollowStem auger capability is what you need, we have given you a choice of two auger drive head options that can be added to your skid steer model. Some carrier vehicle requirements are needed dependent on your choices.

9520-TR PowerProbe

The AMS 9520-TR PowerProbe comes standard with the

90 ft-lb hydraulic hammer, and the option to upgrade to other hammer models.

For those situations where you need to install groundwater monitoring wells, you can add an auger drive head. With the choice of two different auger drive heads, and 2 different hammer options, you can't go wrong with the 9520-TR.

Some carrier vehicle requirements may be required dependant on the options chosen.

9520-VTR PowerProbe

The new AMS 9520-VTR PowerProbe™ is a versatile drill rig that can be used in most Environmental and Geotechnical applications.

While retaining many of the same features of our larger PowerProbes™, the track-mounted 9520-VTR all-terrain model utilizes a smaller carrier and has the added benefits of more HP, improved fuel economy and emissions, positionable control panel, updated hydraulics, auxiliary output connections, and dual dozer blade verses the current comparable-sized AMS model (the 9500-VTR).

9580-VTR PowerProbe

The new AMS 9580-VTR PowerProbe™ is powered by a

tier 4, 60 HP John Deere liquid-cooled diesel engine, and has an increased diesel fuel storage to 120 litres.

The new auger and hammer system has hydraulic pivot and locking systems, and the hammer, auger motor, winch, and auto-drop can all be positioned over the same borehole without realigning or repositioning the machine.

The new auto-drop hammer has improved hammering capability and functionality, and the new 3,000 lb. hydraulic hi-speed winch requires less operator attention.

The rig also features a stronger mast with a larger foot for increased stability, and has a more compact height and width – as well as a fully equipped weight under 5,443kg with a lower centre of gravity. We have added a new hydraulic tooling rack with increased rod carrying capacity, a multi-functioning dozer blade, an all new control panel that allows you to run everything from a single position.
